Bowen’s surgery will begin at 7:30 am.  Please pray for him if you’re awake.

After his surgery, we won’t be able to hold him for several weeks.  As you can imagine, that has been a very difficult truth for us to deal with. I want to share a demo of another song I wrote with some friends a few months ago in anticipation of this very day. I’ve written an entire album of songs to play for Bowen and our family in hopes that it will bring us all comfort during these times.  I hope to be able to share these songs with others who are going through similar situations in the future. The working title is Holding You.

Mother in a waiting room
Wondering if she’ll hold him soon
In the darkness searching for some light
People say it’ll be alright
People tell you to hold on tight
But what do you have to hold onto tonight?

Where will you find peace when you cry?
In these hard times
it’s not in what you hold on to
It’s in the One who’s holding you tonight

It’s like staring down a wishing well
The voice inside cries for help
You’ve never felt so helpless in your life
And time becomes the enemy
‘Cause you just have to wait and see
While all the world is simply passing by

Where will you find peace when you cry?
In these hard times
it’s not in what you hold on to
It’s in the One who’s holding you tonight

You are safe in the arms of The Father
