Three years ago, today, Sarah and I were struggling through feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. We had been up all night after Bowen’s cardiac arrest, and though we had joy because he survived, fear and uncertainty still loomed as we looked toward what the days ahead might look like. I wasn’t prepared for the we saw and experienced during those first few days of Bowen’s life, but with your prayers and God’s healing grace, we made it through.

If you’ve followed Bowen’s story you’ve this first photo many times, but I never tire of sharing it as a testimony of God’s faithfulness and for you to see how far Bowen has come.

To all of you who prayed, encouraged us with comments, and helped crash our website with love throughout this journey, it’s not possible to thank you enough. You are all a gift from God. Because of your prayers and support, we have been strengthened to extend God’s love and help other families through our story and foundation.

Almost every day, Sarah and I receive an email, read a Facebook message, or meet face to face with a family who’s child has laid in this same mess of tubes, bandages and blood. It’s hard to see hope, but God is in the mess, making it beautiful in it’s own time. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

We want to extend an invitation for you to pray with us for families who need hope today. Also, if you’d take time to specifically pray for Silas Huffman, who’s father Chris is a friend of mine, it would mean a lot to us. Silas needs a miracle.
